ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the causes of the dilemma in the medical patents transfer, analyze the corresponding countermeasures. Methods The research clarify the causes of the dilemma in the medical patents transfer and put forward countermeasures to promote the medical patents trans fer according to depth interviews to relevant personnel involved in medical patents transfer and literature analysis. Results A lot of factors, including the professionalism and technical of the medical patents, the special status of the inventor, the imperfect institutions, attitude of hospital administration to the medical patents transfer and environment which ignore the medical patents transfer, lead to the dilemma of the medical patents transfer.Countermeasures like the establishment of a special transfor mation entity, the incentives for transformation personnel, improve the transformation system and processes can promote the medical patents transfer. Conclusions Comprehensive consideration of the objective environment, the effective using of available resources, encouraging collaborations between hospitals and enterprises to making good use of their own advantages,as well as ask for related regulatory support, can help the smooth transfer of medical patents.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the similarities and differences of information needs between cancer patients treated with radiotherapy and chemotherapy, analyze the causes for cancer patients' different choices, and provide reasonable and disease-related information for cancer patients. Methods A total of 102 and 119 cancer patients treated with radiotherapy and chemotherapy relatively were asked to complete the questionnaire (IPQCP+2) and two questions about the total information capacity and content requirements. Results Two groups had different needs of therapeutic information and treatment in IPQCP. Cancer patients treated with chemotherapy needed more widely-ranged information than patients underwent radio-therapy. Conclusions Most of cancer patients treated with radiotherapy and chemotherapy need to be informed of disease-related information, among which the content of therapeutic information and total information is relative to the treatment. Nurses should provide disease-related medical information based on their different needs, as to improve the life quality of cancer patients.

ABSTRACT

A series of research results on the influence of soybean to the bioavai?lability of non-heme iron in diet are reported. It is proved that Soybean and some of its products decrease the bioavailability of non-heme iron in diet by human observation and animal experiments. This result is due to insufficient control over the inhibitors and utilization of the enhancers of the bioavailability of iron in soybean itself.Experiments show that through some special treatment processes such as sprouting, fermenting and making bean curd, the above disadvantages may be effectively reduced and remarkably increase the bioavailability of the non-heme iron. These conclusions possess both theoretical and practical meaning for full utilization of soybean protein and effective prevention of iron deficiency anemia.
